An Iraqi weightlifter wins the world championship gold in Dubai

Baghdad The Iraqi weightlifter, Gram Raad Lilo, won the gold medal in the World Championship (Fazza), which is currently being held in Dubai, UAE.

According to the Kooora website: the weightlifter, Gram Raad, succeeded in winning the gold, and snatching the qualifying card for the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

This is the fourth medal for Iraq in the World Championship (Fazza) held in Dubai, after weightlifter Ahmed Mustafa had previously won two gold medals earlier in the competition, while weightlifter Muslim Aqeel won the first gold on the opening day of the championship, which is witnessing wide international participation.

In terms of the rest of the results achieved today also for the Iraqi delegation, weightlifter Thaer Abbas succeeded in winning two bronze medals in the World Championships, to ensure his qualification for the next Paralympic Games.

The Iraqi Paralympic weightlifting team is looking forward to increasing its yield of various medals, and to compete strongly for the top spot, while earning more qualifying cards for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
