An MP Calls PM To Intervene And Hand Those Involved In Abu Ghraib Incident To The Judiciary

Baghdad The MP Mahmoud Hussein Al-Qaisi disclosed some of the circumstances of the incident of an officer, accompanied by his soldiers, attacking civilians in Abu Ghraib district, which led to the death of a citizen and the wounding of five others, some of whom are in serious condition.

In a video recording, Al-Qaisi urged the security authorities to do their duty to protect innocent lives and arrest criminals; whatever their affiliations, and to bring them to a fair trial.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, also called for speedy action and an attempt to cordon off the problem, supervise the investigation himself, and hold the officer and soldiers accountable urgently, and hand them over to the judiciary.

It is mentioned that a civilian was killed last night, Wednesday, and five others were wounded in a clash and a quarrel with a patrol of the 17th Division in the army in Abu Ghraib area, west of Baghdad.

Defense Minister Jumaa Inad ordered an urgent investigation and the arrest of the patrol members.
