At Least 22 Civilians Killed In Air Strikes In Omdurman, Sudan

The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced that at least 22 civilians were killed in air strikes near the capital, Khartoum, and many people were injured in the attack that took place in the city of Omdurman.

In Khartoum and the surrounding area, residential areas were subjected to repeated attacks, in addition to the outbreak of battles over strategic targets.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations expressed deep concern about the ongoing war between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, indicating that it may push Sudan to the brink of an all-out civil war, which may lead to destabilization of the entire region.

The United Nations says that 2.9 million people in Sudan have been displaced so far due to the conflict, and more than 600,000 others have fled to neighboring countries.

The Sudanese army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has been fighting the Rapid Support Forces since mid-April.
