The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, arrived in Najaf, on a visit, the first of its kind to the province. He was received by Hashim Al Karaawi, First Deputy Governor.

Local sources stated: “Talabani will visit the shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH) and the two religious authorities, Ishaq Al-Fayadh and Bashir Al-Najafi, and some political and societal figures in Najaf.”
