Baghdad The co-chair of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, discussed with the Chinese Ambassador, Chunk Tao, the political, economic and security conditions in the Kurdistan region.

During the meeting, Talabani stressed, according to the website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the determination to strengthen the ancient relations of the Kurdistan region, especially the Patriotic Union with China in the political, economic, commercial and cultural fields, noting that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan desires to revive cooperation and joint coordination and to perpetuate the historical relations built by the late President Mam Jalal with The People’s Republic of China and asked them to support the development of the Kurdistan region.

The delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan referred to the efforts to develop the region’s infrastructure, indicating that there are great opportunities for investment in the energy, agriculture, industry and trade sectors for Chinese investors to participate in the development of these sectors and expressed their willingness to facilitate their work.

The delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan thanked China for its continuous assistance to the Kurdistan Region in the face of the Corona virus, stressing the continuation of this assistance.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador affirmed support for the efforts of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the continuation of cooperation and coordination with the Kurdistan region and Iraq.
