Baghdad The MP of the Iraqi Forces Alliance, Adel Al-Mahlawi, called on Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to intervene against the confiscation of citizens’ lands surrounding Baghdad International Airport under the pretext of fake slogans.

Al-Mahlawi said, in a press statement, that “the steps of demographic change are now exposed because there are indications of such actions that do not take into account the sensitivity of the societal situation, and the need to avoid any step that generates suspicion.”

He added, “What is happening towards the citizens’ lands surrounding Baghdad Airport under the investment banner, generates suspicion that there are those who want to use the title of investment to confiscate the presence of the people of these lands, which they have inhabited for decades,” calling on the Prime Minister to intervene to prevent what he described as steps that confiscate citizens’ rights through political use to the laws.

He explained, “The silence and indifference from the Prime Minister will make him a partner in these measures that affect the rights of a large segment of citizens.”
