Baquba A local source in Diyala revealed the details of the attack on the convoy of former Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jiuri, injuring two of his office workers, yesterda

The source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the convoy of Al-Jubouri came under gunfire attack by unknown persons while it was passing on Al-Muqdadiya-Baquba road, specifically near the intersection of Al-Wajihiya district, northeast of Baqubah, which resulted in the injury of two workers in his office in Diyala governorate.

He added, “the security authorities have opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and the parties behind the attack.”

The source did not indicate whether the former parliament speaker was in the convoy that was attacked.
