Baghdad The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, discussed today, Monday, with David Hunt, the new British Consul General in Erbil, several files, including the upcoming Iraqi elections.

The party’s media office stated: “The two sides hoped that the elections would lead to positive change and fulfill the aspirations of the citizens.”

Barzani praised Britain’s support for the Peshmerga forces in the war against ISIS.

For his part, the British Consul affirmed his country’s continued support for the Kurdistan region, and aspiration to expand the relationship with the region and develop it in various fields
