Baghdad The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, revealed the size of the costs required to house and assist the displaced in the Kurdistan region.
The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government indicated in a tweet posted on Twitter today, Sunday, that “the number of displaced people in the Kurdistan region is 928,674 displaced people and refugees from inside and outside Iraq, and the Kurdistan region needs 869 million dollars annually to meet the needs of these displaced people and accommodate them.
According to the United Nations, there are 82,400,000 refugees worldwide.
For his part, the spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Iraq, Firas Al-Khatib, said in a press statement, “There are still one million and 200 thousand displaced people in Iraq, as well as 300 thousand refugees from other countries to Iraq, the majority of whom live in the Kurdistan region.
