Basra Elections Office: /243 / candidates are competing in the parliamentary elections, including 66 women in the province

Basra The office of the Electoral Commission in Basra announced the completion of all requirements for the general elections scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, throughout the country.

A source in the IHEC office stated, “the number of voters included in the elections reached 1,806,879 in the governorate, which will take place in 514 polling centers, including 4,168 polling stations in 6 electoral districts. Noting that” more than one million three hundred thousand had their cards updated and received.

He added, “243 candidates are competing for the 25 parliamentary seats representing the governorate, 6 of whom are included in the women’s quota system.

He added that the number of alliances reached 14, while the number of parties reached 30, while 47 independents ran for the elections.

He also made it clear that each station has a number of voters ranging from 450 to 400, indicating that there are maintenance teams and backup devices in all electoral centers in the event of any malfunction
