Basra Leads The Central And Southern Governorates In The Spread Of Drugs

Basra The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Basra called for the rehabilitation, care and protection of society from the scourge of drugs in a real way, and support, develop and train the bodies working to combat it.

The office said in a statement, “Coinciding with the International Day against Drugs on June 26 of each year, we warn the central and local governments against the continued absence of work on decisive treatments for the drug phenomenon and its dangerous escalation among the youth group.”

The office explained, “Basra governorate leads the central and southern governorates in the spread of this phenomenon, in terms of trafficking, promotion and abuse, with a rate of more than 50%.”
