Biden intends to run for a second term in the upcoming 2024 US presidential election

Baghdad US President Joe Biden intends to run for a second term in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.

The Agency (Bloomberg) quoted “many aides and allies” of the US President, today, as saying that “Biden is preparing to launch his re-election project months after the midterm elections for Congress scheduled for next November.”

TheAgency added that Biden is sticking to re-election despite his low popularity, while several polls show that Democrats prefer another candidate to run in the elections over the current president, aged 79 years.

Three Democratic members of Congress recently proposed clearing the way for a younger successor to Biden, while several other Democratic lawmakers have clearly refused to endorse his re-election. Biden’s approval rating is only about 40%, according to a FiveThirtyEight poll.

Three-quarters of Democrats polled by CNN last month said they wanted another candidate in 2024, while a quarter of Democratic voters indicated they did not believe Biden could win again.

Last month, former US President Donald Trump announced that he had made his decision to run for the election in 2024, without revealing the nature of the decision he had taken.
