Britain Calls On Iran To Return Quickly To The Nuclear Deal Negotiations

Baghdad British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss called on Iran to return quickly to the Vienna negotiations aimed at reviving the nuclear agreement.

A government statement quoted Truss as saying that she held her first meeting with her Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir Abdollahian, urging Tehran to return quickly to the Vienna negotiations, with the aim of all parties returning to compliance with it and easing tension over Iran’s nuclear program.

The statement added, “The two sides discussed in the meeting bilateral, nuclear and regional issues.”

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, said in an interview with the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), that: The United States must cancel all sanctions imposed on Iran, to resume nuclear negotiations.

Last April, Iran entered into negotiations with the 4+1 group in Vienna during the era of former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, but these negotiations were halted on June 20, after President Ibrahim Raisi won the presidential elections
