Baghdad The official Spokesman for the Council of Ministers, Minister of Culture, Hassan Nadhem, reassured the Iraqis about the fate of the National Archives, or what is known as the Iraqi Jewish Archive.
Nadhem said, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that “the Iraqi national archive, the Iraqi Jewish Archive, is located in safe locations, and during our recent visit to Washington, DC, with the Prime Minister on July 26, I saw it with my own eyes completely and restored.”
He added, “We are currently working on recovering the Iraqi national archive in the near future.”
Regarding the distribution of the grant for journalists, artists and writers, Nadhem confirmed that “we are working on distributing it soon, after the House of Representatives allocated six billion, then we added another 6 billion dinars from the Tourism Authority, bringing the total to 12 billion dinars.
