Baghdad The Civil Defense Directorate teams put out a fire that broke out inside a large store containing perfumes, oils and household items in the Jamila area near Husseiniya Al-Ansari, east of Baghdad.
A statement by the Directorate stated, “20 firefighting teams participated in extinguishing the fire from the four sides and prevented the spread of the fire, after which they succeeded in carrying out direct incursions into the midst of the fire, and rescued a worker who had suffered from severe suffocation as a result of inhaling the products of the fire and gas emissions, while the civil defense rescue teams rushed to provide first aid before securing his transfer to the nearby hospital, in conjunction with the operations of extinguishing and controlling the fire inside the burning warehouse built of chenko boards, an irregular overrun warehouse.
The civil defense teams completed their duty to put out the fire and rescued the commercial stores adjacent to the scene of the accident without recording human losses while limiting the material damage inside the burned warehouse, while an investigation was opened at the police station responsible for the geographical area based on the report of the forensic expert to determine the causes of the fire initially inside the warehouse.
