Baghdad Minister of Defense Jumaa Enad Saadoun received, in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters today, Monday, the new ambassador of the Russian Federation to Baghdad, Elbrus Kutrashev and his accompanying delegation, and they discussed ways to develop Iraqi-Russian relations.

The minister praised, according to a ministry statement, the strong relations that bind the Russian and Iraqi peoples in all fields.

For his part, the Russian ambassador praised the long-standing relations between the two countries, and reiterated the support of the Russian Federation government to the Iraqi government in its war against terrorism.
