Dismantling a drug trafficking and smuggling network in Baghdad

Baghdad, The General Directorate for Anti-Narcotic Affairs announced the implementation of a second qualitative operation and the dismantling of a drug trafficking and smuggling network in Baghdad.

The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement: “Under the personal supervision of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and within 24 hours and with a second qualitative process, the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs in the Ministry of the Interior, with the follow-up of the Director General of the Directorate, carried out a pre-emptive qualitative operation on the Rusafa side of Baghdad, which resulted in the dismantling of a drug trafficking and smuggling network, consisting of (5) defendants under judicial decisions, as they were caught in their possession (58,750) thousand tablets of drugs, and they were placed under arrest according to a judicial decision in accordance with the provisions of Article (28)of the P.C. of drugs.
