Dozens of protesters block a road leading to Khan al-Tamr in Kirkuk

Kirkuk Dozens of owners of shops and vehicles working in Khan Al-Tamr district demonstrated in the city of Kirkuk, for their refusal to transfer the market to an investor from the people of Sulaymaniyah, who imposes sums of money on them.

Arjan Mahmoud, one of the workers in the market in the center of the city of Kirkuk, said that dozens of workers, grocers and shop owners gathered in Salah al-Din Street (Khan al-Tamr) and burned tires and blocked the road, protesting against the procedures of the Ministry of Municipalities and the Kirkuk Municipality Directorate by referring the market to an investor from Sulaymaniyah, and he imposed the tax links and fees.

The worker, Azad Hama, said, “We demand that the work be transferred to the people of Kirkuk and not to impose exorbitant fees that harm workers and sellers of vegetables, so that their prices are appropriate in the local market and that the citizens of Kirkuk are not harmed
