Baghdad Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, affirmed that the 2022 World Cup will be the first major event that brings together and unites the world after the pandemic that the world has suffered for more than two years.
In his speech before the start of the Qatar World Cup 2022 draw, the Emir of Qatar said: “This tournament will be the first major event that brings together and unites the world after the pandemic that the world has suffered for more than two years.”
He added, “I feel proud and happy from now until the moment the world will see that we in Qatar, as promised, will present an exceptional World Cup in our Arab world.”
He continued his speech, saying, “As a fan and an athlete, I and you all look forward to enjoy this great event and its special atmosphere, realizing that the impact of such sporting events does not stop at the level of fun only, but goes beyond it to higher and higher stages that lead us to rapprochement and acquaintance among the peoples of the world.”
