Erdogan threatens again the PKK with a ground invasion of northern Syria and Iraq

Istanbul Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened again the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) with a ground invasion of northern Syria and Iraq, against the backdrop of the attack on the Taksim area in Istanbul last week and Gaziantep today.

Erdogan said in a press statement a few hours after the missile attack on the border city of Gaziantep: The air military operation that we carried out in northern Syria and Iraq will not be limited to air raids, and it is out of the question that ( Sword of the Claw) will be limited to air operations, and we will take the decision and step regarding the size of ground forces that must be organized for the operation.

He added: We will hold discussions with the Ministry of Defense regarding the participation of ground forces in the military operation and an assessment of the number of forces needed for this participation in the upcoming operation in northern Syria and Iraq.
