Erdogan warns of the escalation of hostility to Islam and foreigners in the post-Corona era

Istanbul Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that xenophobia and Islamophobia will spread more in the world with the increasing economic difficulties in the post-Corona era.

Erdogan indicated in a speech during his meeting last night with a delegation from the International Union of Democrats (a European non-governmental organization), headed by the President of the Union, Koksal Gosh, that the economic repercussions of the Corona pandemic began to appear with life gradually returning to normal, and that the crisis in gas stations and stores recently in Britain is only an example of the disruptions in supply chains that the Corona pandemic has paved the way for.

Erdogan said, “It is very likely that other countries will experience similar problems over time, and with the increase in economic difficulties in the post-Corona period, and anti-foreigner and anti-Islam will spread more.”

Erdogan explained that the statistics on hate crimes (in Europe) reveal the dangerous dimensions of anti-Islam and anti-Turks.

He stressed that cultural racism is a global problem that affects not only Turkey and its citizens, but also all foreigners and immigrants in Europe.

It is noteworthy that the International Union of Democrats (UID) takes Cologne, Germany, as its headquarters and in 2005 it opened branches in several European countries.
