Baghdad The Security Media Cell announced the discovery of explosive belts and materials for their manufacture in Hawi Al-Adhaim.

The Cell stated in a statement that the Diyala Operations Command has begun carrying out a qualitative operation through the units of the First Division of the army this morning, to raid and search Hawi al-Adhaim and the villages adjacent to it, with the aim of drying up the sources of terrorism, arresting wanted persons, destroying dens and clearing land within the sector of responsibility.

It added that the command was able to find a number of explosive belts prepared for detonation, as well as a den containing dispersed materials and iron balls used in making the explosive belts. The operation is still ongoing
