Extinguishing a large fire in Al-Waziriyah stores in Baghdad / Expanded

The Civil Defense teams succeeded in controlling and putting out a major fire incident that broke out inside large warehouses built of sandwich panels and tin with an area of 1,000 square meters, containing plastic materials that are difficult to extinguish, adjacent to large warehouses containing highly flammable alcohol materials in Al-Waziriya area in central Baghdad.

A statement by the Directorate stated that the Civil Defense teams moved their floating boats in the Tigris River to draw water directly from the middle of the river to feed their vehicles, in addition to moving the Baghdad Karkh effort to support Al-Rusafa mobilized effort with its full capabilities, except for the reserve from it to contain the fires in the burning warehouses and to end its gaseous emissions and toxic fire products as a result the burning of plastic materials that affect the lives of citizens and pollute the environment after the civil defense teams hit a water barrier to prevent the spread of flames to the warehouses adjacent to the accident site.

The Civil Defense requested, according to the statement, to open an investigation at the police station responsible for the geographical area, based on the report of the forensic expert, to determine the causes of the fire in the first place inside the burning warehouse
