Baghdad / NINA / – The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced today, Saturday, that ten Arab countries, including Iraq, need external assistance for food due to internal climate-related conflicts.

“The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily in terms of income losses, have exacerbated vulnerabilities and increased current levels of food insecurity,” the Rome-based organization said in a report.

It indicated that “10 Arab countries need external assistance for food, as climate-related conflicts and clashes continue to reinforce high levels of severe food insecurity.”
