Feryal Ashraf wins the first gold medal for Egypt in the Tokyo Olympics

Baghdad Feryal Ashraf, the Egyptian karate player, won the gold medal in the 61-kg weight category at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, after defeating the Azerbaijani player 2-0 in the final round of the tournament.

Feryal Ashraf made a new history for Egypt in karate, as the medal she was crowned with is the second Egyptian, Arab and African medal in the Karate Olympics.

Feryal Ashraf, the female karate player, succeeded in qualifying for the semi-finals of the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, after drawing with the Algerian champion in the last match in the group stage, and guaranteeing Egypt a fifth medal in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
