Foreign Ministry Spokesman: Forming A Tripartite Ministerial Committee In Preparation For The Upcoming Baghdad Conference

Baghdad Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein chaired the meeting of the foreign ministers of the participating countries to follow up on the outcomes of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, on Tuesday, 9/21/21, at the headquarters of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations in New York.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said in a statement that that the meeting took place in the presence of the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs and Peace-building, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union.

The statement added, “The meeting concluded with an agreement to form a tripartite ministerial committee from the foreign ministers of Iraq, Jordan and France to complete the preparations related to the agenda and objectives of the upcoming conference to be held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
