The head of the National Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim described the upcoming elections as “fateful” to consolidate Iraq’s democracy.
Al-Hakim, during his meeting with a number of Kuwaiti media leaders in the presence of the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Muayyad al-Lami, according to a statement by his office, confirmed “the need to hold the elections on time,” noting: “It is a crucial elections in which Iraq moves from the stage of building democracy to consolidate it and from instability to stability , which is no less important than the 2005 elections. “
He expressed “optimism about the alliances that announced,” describing them as: “national alliances cross-sectarianism and nationalism.”
He added, “We thank the State of Kuwait for its efforts at the donor conference for the reconstruction of Iraq to be held in Kuwait next month,”
He stressed that “The donor conference for the reconstruction of Iraq’s devastated areas in Kuwait is an expression of the keenness of our brothers in Kuwait to deepen and maintain relations between the two countries,
