Economic Committee member MP Harith al-Harithi considered the Saudi Arabia assurances of request from Baghdad on the fate of the grant for the reconstruction of Iraq to be presented at the donors conference to be held in Kuwait, as “good” step to cut the corrupt way and to save money from being waste.
Al-Harithi said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “Saudi Arabia’s request for guarantees for financial grants to be provided to Iraq,” a very natural issue, “and the right of donors to know where are the assistance they provide to go,” noting that” most countries have provided very large financial aid for organizations in Iraq, but the money went to the pockets of the corrupt. “
