Head Of CTS Discusses With The Head Of National Defense Committee And French Parliamentary Armed Forces, Prospects For Coordination And Cooperation

Baghdad The Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant General Abdel-Wahab Al-Saadi, received today, Sunday, the President of the National Defense Committee and the French Parliamentary Armed Forces, Francoise Dumas, and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed prospects for strategic coordination and cooperation in the military fields that fall within the efforts to combat terrorism in Iraq and the region.

The head of the Counter-Terrorism Service appreciated the French role in supporting the Iraqi forces through field training for Iraqi fighters and the air support provided during military operations.

For her part, the head of the National Defense Committee and the French parliamentary forces praised the efforts of the counterterrorism forces in the context of fighting the remnants of ISIS and confirmed her country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Iraq and to continue to support the efforts of the Iraqi armed forces in their confrontation with the remnants of terrorism in the country and the continuation of communication between the two countries.
