Head Of Sunni Endowment Discusses With Undersecretary Of Al-Azhar The Arrangements And Program For Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb’s Visit To Iraq

Baghdad Head of the Sunni Endowment Saad Kambash met with Muhammad Al-Dhawini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador in Cairo, Iraq’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi.

Kambash discussed with Sheikh Al- Dhawini the necessary arrangements and the program for the upcoming visit of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb to Iraq and the means to ensure its success.

Kambash said: The government and people of Iraq welcome with appreciation and pride the historic visit of the Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb, since Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, with its past, present, moderation, had a dear place in the hearts of all Muslims.

The two sides agreed to proceed with the opening of Al-Azhar Institute in Baghdad, provided that the Department of Religious Education and Islamic Studies in the Sunni Endowment, in coordination with Sheikh of Al-Azhar, to develop the work items, which establishes the opening of the institute, to be a scientific beacon, to be added to the institutions of the Sunni Endowment.
