Independent MP: We will do everything we can to stop the election law

Independent MP Kazem Al-Fayyad affirmed that they will do everything in their power to stop the election law, some of its paragraphs were voted on at dawn today, Monday.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: What happened today is contrary to the law and the constitution, in addition to that returning to Saint Lego Law is contrary to the popular demands and religious authorities' orientations.

Al-Fayyad added: We will work at all levels to stop this law and preserve the current election law, which created space for the emerging blocs to have a role in the political process.

The House of Representatives voted at dawn today on some articles of the law amending the provincial councils law, setting 6 November as the date for the provincial elections, provided that it resumes its sessions and votes on the remaining articles next Saturday
