Integrity Commission: an arrest and search warrant against a director general at the Ministry of Commerce

Baghdad The Investigation Department of the Federal Integrity Commission confirmed the issuance of an arrest and search warrant against the General Director of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade in the former Ministry of Trade.

It referred to the case it investigated and referred to the judiciary, saying the department indicated that the Second Karkh Investigation Court issued an arrest and search warrant against the former General Manager of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade following the disclosure of inflation in his funds, indicating that the decision came after reviewing the technical report prepared by the Authority’s Prevention Department and the statements of its legal representative.

The department added that the arrest warrant issued by the Second Karkh Investigation Court came in accordance with the provisions of Article (19/Second) of the amended Law No. 30 of 2011 of the Integrity and Illicit Gain Commission.

It is noteworthy that the commission announced on the twenty-second of November the issuance of a judgment in absentia that imprisoned the former General Manager of the General Company for Foodstuff Trading for seven years on the background of his contract to supply (2500) tons of tea, which the results of the examination proved unfit for human consumption.
