Iranian Energy Minister: We Signed The First Long-Term Agreement With Iraq In The Field Of Electricity

Baghdad Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian announced that Iran has signed the first long-term agreement with Iraq in the field of electricity, considering his country is the first power to generate electricity in the West Asia region.

Fars News Agency quoted Mehrabian as saying, “The trend towards concluding long-term strategic agreements in the field of electricity is one of the most important diplomatic axes for the current government, which has led to bright results for Iran.”

Mehrabian referred to the existing energy in Iran in the field of electricity, stressing that, according to international reports, it is the largest source of electricity production and distribution among West Asian countries, and it was the strongest country in this field among the mentioned countries despite the slow progress of the development of the electricity industry during the past years.

The minister considered that Iran is the highest country in the field of electricity among West Asian countries, adding that Iran’s ability in this field is not limited to electrical stations, but rather it has become an important place among the countries of the world due to its scientific development, as it intends to export all kinds of engineering services in the field of electricity as well.
