Iranian FM: Iraq Plays An Important Role In The Region

Baghdad Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Abdollahian stressed that Iraq plays an important role in the region.

In his speech at the Baghdad Conference today, the Minister expressed his happiness for his participation in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.

He stressed: “Tehran is one of the first countries in the region to recognize the new Iraq.”

Abdollahian announced that the trade exchange with Iraq during the past years amounted to $13 billion.

Abdollahian said that Iran supports Iraq’s stability and territorial integrity.

Abdollahian said at the Baghdad Conference today: “Iraq has been greatly affected by the emergence of terrorist groups, indicating that Tehran has provided support to Iraq in the fight against terrorism.”
