Baghdad – Tehran confirmed that Baghdad will host the next round of official talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in his weekly press conference: “Iran held five rounds of talks with Saudi Arabia, hosted by Baghdad, and the results were fruitful.”
He added, “The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, confirmed, after the Jeddah meeting, in a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Amir Abdullahian, the desire of the Saudi Crown Prince to hold public negotiations, considering that a good gesture.”
He continued, “the positive will of Iran and Saudi Arabia provided the ground for holding a meeting at an official and political level in Baghdad to take a big step to resume relations between them.”
