Around two and a half million internally displaced persons (IDPs) returned to their newly-liberated areas, the Iraqi Ministry of Displacement and Migration said.
The ministry said in a statement the IDPs and returnees issue is deemed a gov’t top priority and noted the state’s institutions press ahead to meet all necessary needs of the IDPs until they return safely to their territories countrywide.
The ministry’s teams work in collaboration with Army forces to help some two and a half million IDPs return to their once terrorist-held homes, it added.
The ministry said relevant preparations are still ongoing on a fast pace, especially in the governorates of Nineveh, Al Anbar, and Kirkuk.
