Iraq And Iran Discuss Securing The Appropriate Atmosphere For The Citizens Of The Two Countries During Visits And Religious Events

The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, discussed with the Tehran Police Commander, securing the appropriate atmosphere for the citizens of the two countries during religious visits and events, especially the Arbaeen visit.

A statement by his media office stated that Al-Shammari met, on the sidelines of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the chief of police in Tehran, in the presence of the Iraqi delegation accompanying him. A number of important issues were discussed, including securing the appropriate atmosphere for the citizens of both countries during religious visits and events, especially the Arbaeen visit and all its details, and organizing the movement of visitors.

According to the statement, during the meeting, they also discussed the exchange of wanted persons for the judiciary, and the fight against drugs and psychotropic substances.

According to the statement, the minister praised the Iranian side’s response to all matters that were raised during the meeting, including the exchange of wanted persons and the identification of infiltration and smuggling operations at the borders of the two countries, which the two sides stressed the importance of controlling in a large way.

The Minister of Interior appreciated the great expertise that the Iranian police forces possess, stressing that there is an agreement to exchange experiences between the police of the two neighboring countries.
