Baghdad Minister Plenipotentiary Ali Hilal met with Ambassador of Japan to Baghdad Suzuki Kotaro.

A Foreign Ministry statement said that during the meeting, they discussed ways of joint cooperation within the Asian group in preparation for the session of the Human Rights Council, as well as the work of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.”

The two sides also discussed statements and agenda items that will be discussed during these two international forums.

The Ambassador praised Iraq’s efforts in the field of women’s empowerment and the efforts of the Iraqi government in activating Security Council Resolution No. (1325) on women, peace and security.
