Baghdad Minister of Industry and Minerals Manal Aziz Al-Khabbaz discussed with the Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq Ali Adeeb Al-Habhab and the accompanying delegation the bilateral relations and the opportunities available for industrial cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Minister referred to the historical and fraternal relations that bind the two countries and their two brotherly peoples, expressing the Ministry’s desire to cooperate with the State of Lebanon in various industries, including textile, leather, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and other industries, and to increase communication and coordination between Iraqi and Lebanese industrialists and businessmen, which contributes to the development of the industrial sector for both countries.
He also pointed to the necessity of holding a virtual international conference to discuss prospects for cooperation and to strengthen joint relations between the countries of the region, stressing Iraq’s readiness to provide all forms of support to the brotherly Lebanese people, represented by customs and tax exemptions in accordance with the legal controls and frameworks in force. He also instructed to provide the Lebanese side with opportunities for cooperation, partnership and investment available at the Ministry in preparation for actual cooperation and agreement between the two parties.
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his country’s desire to establish important projects with Iraq in the industrial field, especially since Lebanon possesses expertise in multiple industrial fields and is working to develop them despite the difficult circumstances it is going through.
