Baghdad Iraq and Canada discussed cooperation between the two countries and means of enhancing them in all fields.
A statement by the Foreign Ministry said, “Minister Ali alHakim met with Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition to fight and defeat Daesh held in Washington, DC”
The meeting focused on the relations of cooperation between the two countries, ways of enhancing them in all fields, as well as discussing regional issues of common concern.
Hakim stressed Iraq’s keenness to achieve stability in the region, and support the path of dialogue as a viable solution to the crises experienced by the region.
The minister appreciated the support provided by Canada through its participation in the International Coalition, and supporting Iraq in various fields, pointing to the importance of continuing support in the reconstruction phase of Iraq.
