Iraq Chairs A Meeting To Combat Extremism And Terrorism In The Council Of Arab Interior Ministers

Baghdad Adviser to the Minister of Interior, the legal Major General Mahdi Al-Fikayki, chaired today a meeting to combat extremism and terrorism in the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.

A statement by the ministry said that the meeting discussed the working paper and the agenda prepared by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers through studies prepared by the Arab Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism based in Riyadh, and the participation of the interior ministries of Arab countries that prepared their reports on this matter.

The meeting resulted, according to the statement, on a set of important items on how to tackle the fight against terrorism and ways to dry up the sources of terrorism through exchanging information and establishing databases between Arab countries, in addition to addressing the recruitment of children and preventing them from being exploited by these groups.

A set of studies and research has been put forward to limit the transfer of terrorist elements between countries.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the international organizations Interpol, the Arab League and Naif University for Security Sciences.

The meeting concluded its work by issuing a set of important recommendations in the field of combating terrorism and extremism.
