Baghdad Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Hassan Nadhim, received today, Sunday, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Baghdad, Peter Felten, and his accompanying delegation.
According to the ministry’s statement, the two parties discussed a number of joint cultural and artistic projects, and plans to establish them.
The minister stressed the importance of this partnership and its role in strengthening relations between the two peoples.
In turn, Felten reviewed some of the embassy’s work to be implemented next year, including the transfer of the language exam to Baghdad, the school support program with the start of the new school year, as well as the project of pairing schools and museums to develop students’ interest in museums and antiquities. He also talked about the artistic residency program that will bring together artists from the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Felten presented a proposal that would facilitate some of the work of the embassy and the Goethe-Institute in southern and central Iraq, expressing his happiness at the continued cooperation and development in a number of projects.
The Minister stressed the need to submit the proposal for study and to take the opinion of the legal authorities and some state institutions
