Baghdad The Southeast Anatolia Exporters Union in Turkey announced that Iraq was the largest importer of grains and legumes from Turkey during the first half of 2021.
The Union said in a statement, “the total exports of grains and legumes, during the first six months of this year, amounted to 4,972,430 tons, registering a growth of 19.7 percent, compared to the first half of last year.”
It added that “the revenues of Turkish grain exports amounted to 4 billion and 155 million and 643 thousand dollars, during the first 6 months of this year.”
It pointed out that “Iraq topped the importing countries for Turkish grains and legumes, with 656 million and 364 thousand dollars, followed by Syria with 272 million and 8 thousand dollars, and then the United States with 236 million dollars.”
