Baghdad – Dr. Ali Al-Muayyad, Head of the Media and Communications Commission, announced that Iraq has regained its orbital rights to satellites. This declaration came during the World Radiocommunication Conference WRC23 held in the United Arab Emirates. Al-Muayyad stated that the International Telecommunication Union approved new satellite orbits for member states, including Iraq, in the BSS broadcasting satellite service.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, He noted that this decision, achieved after over ten years of coordination with the International Telecommunication Union, is a major accomplishment for the Republic of Iraq.
