Iraqi Postal And Savings Company Issues Special Stamps For Pope Francis’ Visit To Iraq

Baghdad The General Postal and Savings Company issued two postage stamps for Pope Francis’ visit to Iraq.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Communications, Raad Al-Mashhadani, said in a statement today: “The General Postal and Savings Company issued a postage stamp for the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Iraq, and his meeting with the religious authority, His Eminence Ali Al-Sistani, and another stamp for his visit to the historic city of Ur, as this visit embodied the Highlight the concepts of peaceful coexistence and love between religions inside and outside Iraq.

Al-Mashhadani added: “This came within the company’s annual plan for 2021, in commemorating the visits of important personalities to the country.”

He explained: “This stamp will be included in the issuance of (commemorative) stamps, in several denominations, with a value of (500, 750 and 1000) dinars, and in an amount of (5000) stamps, and a card in the denomination of (1500 and 5000(“.

The stamp was designed by the designer Saad Ghazi, and printed at the General Postal and Savings Company’s press, and the version will be marketed by the company’s offices and amateur offices
