Iraqi President Returns from Vatican Visit

Baghdad – President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid has returned to Baghdad today, Saturday, after a notable visit to the Vatican. Accompanied by First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, the President’s trip aimed at strengthening ties with the Vatican State.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, A presidential statement released in conjunction with his return detailed the engagements during the visit. President Rashid met with key Vatican figures, including Pope Francis and Prime Minister Pietro Paulin. The discussions during these meetings, as per the statement, were centered on fostering bilateral relations and exploring areas of mutual interest between Iraq and the Vatican. The visit marks a significant step in diplomatic outreach and the strengthening of international relationships by the Iraqi presidency.
