Baghdad – In Baghdad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani has received an invitation to visit the United Kingdom from British Foreign Secretary David Cameron. The invitation was extended during a phone call between the two officials.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the call covered a range of topics, including the strengthening of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom. Discussions also touched on the current security and political situation in the region, with particular focus on developments in the Palestinian issue. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuing the truce, working to halt aggression, and preventing the expansion of conflict.
The statement further noted that Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed the Iraqi government’s commitment to ensuring the protection of military advisors present on Iraqi soil. He also reiterated Iraq’s firm stance against any violation of its sovereignty under all circumstances.
