A security source told the / that the "Iraqi army forces managed to repel a massive attack by Daesh from several directions, targeting the Nimrod district and the villages of Mushayrifa and Numaniya within the district.

The source continued that the "Iraqi forces managed to kill 12 elements of Daesh including two suicide bombers, and three members of Daesh were arrested of those who tried to sneak into the liberated villages.

He explained that the Iraqi forces have stepped up full deployment of its forces on the outskirts of the liberated villages for fear, ie, to guard against any attack by Daesh south east of the city.
