Baghdad The Director-General of the Mine Action Department, Eng. Dhafer Mahmoud Khalaf, discussed today, Monday, with the Director-General of the United Nations Mine Action Service, Pierre Laude Hammer, coordinating joint technical works.
A statement by the department stated: The two sides discussed coordinating field visits to each of the governorates of Kirkuk, Muthanna and Basra governorate in order to see the priorities of pollution and the nature of the removal work carried out in Basra governorate within the European Union grant to this governorate.
He added: they also discussed the readiness of the United Nations Mine Action Department (UNMAS) to support some of the requirements and needs of the Mine Affairs Department in terms of awareness work and information management.
