Kirkuk: 36,000 displaced families have not returned to their areas, and the biggest challenge is the destroyed villages

Kirkuk The head of the Sustainable Solutions Committee in Kirkuk Governorate, Ali Hammadi, announced that there are 36,000 displaced families in the city of Kirkuk.

He said in a press statement: “The displacement file needs great support and the assistance of the provincial administration in returning the displaced to the provinces bordering Kirkuk and the destroyed villages.”

He added, “The biggest challenge facing Kirkuk is the presence of 138 destroyed villages that cannot be reconstructed, because they include 16,000 destroyed housing units and need large sums of money.”
